Carlos Corberan singles out ‘very special’ Grady Diangana for West Brom
Carlos Corberan has singled out Grady Diangana for specific praise following his recent performances for West Brom, and after he bagged two assists in the 3-1 win against Hull City.
Diangana’s performances in the absence of some of the Baggies’ key stars have been a revelation, and the boss has taken note of his marked improvement since coming back into the starting side.
Corberan has been pleased with how he has stepped up during somewhat of an injury crisis at The Hawthorns and admitted that it was down to those injuries that Diangana’s minutes increased.

Speaking to the Express & Star on 6 November, Corberan shared: “Diangana is one very special player when he commits to the situation he is one player that can make a difference in the Championship.
“We are very pleased to see him scoring goals like last week, the previous week and giving an assist, it’s very important that the players in attack impact and produce and now he is finding a way to do this.
“From when we arrived here he was playing more on the left than the right, I see now he playing better on the right than the left. And the fact that we’ve had some injuries in the attack has helped him to play more minutes.
“With these minutes he is using very well and he is showing the real level that he has to play.”
Stepping up when needed
Sometimes patience is what’s required when things don’t quite seem to be going your way, and the way Diangana has stepped up when called upon this season has proved that his patience and desire to improve have been worth it.
With three assists and two goals in his last five Baggies appearances, the winger has allowed fans to forget about their missing stars and the focus has turned to his impressive displays, earning high praise from his boss.

Not only is it important for the club to have such strength and depth, with players like Diangana able to step in and continue his good form and performances in the absence of some of the star players, particularly the likes of John Swift, but having those types of characters will always help.
It has become clear that Diangana has worked hard on his game during his spell out of the side, and the way he has performed when called upon should provide inspiration to some of the other sidelined players at The Hawthorns.
In other West Brom news, a star player is set to have a scan on his confirmed injury.
