Carlos Corberan impact at West Brom made clear as Sky Sports move Leeds United and Stoke City fixtures

If West Brom supporters were not already aware, Carlos Corberan has made the club an exciting prospect once again.

Albion were lurching near the relegation zone when the Spaniard replaced Steve Bruce a little over a year ago, with the club seemingly only heading one way.

But after guiding Albion up the division in the second half of last season, Corberan has used that momentum in the early part of this campaign.

Fifteen games into the season and West Brom find themselves fifth in the Championship in what is shaping up to be an exciting play-off battle.

While Leicester City and Ipswich Town have formed an island of their own in the top two, the rest of the top six are separated by only three points.

Indeed, just three points separate the Baggies in fifth and Hull City in ninth – the margins really are extremely tight, meaning every result is crucial.

It is perhaps little wonder, then, that Sky Sports have moved a couple more West Brom games for television coverage next month.

Albion announced on their Twitter page on Thursday (9 November) that the home games with Stoke City and Leeds United have been shifted.

Corberan’s side have had a number of fixtures rearranged up until the new year, with games against Ipswich, Leicester and Sunderland also moved.

While fans may not be pleased that various plans may now have to be altered, it goes to show that Corberan has made Albion a team neutrals want to watch.

No longer are the Baggies mid-table also-rans – they are now firmly in a battle to earn promotion to the Premier League.

Whether Albion can sustain their early-season form is another matter, but at least supporters have something to get excited about. For that, Corberan is to thank.

In other West Brom news, Chris Lepkowski has shared an “extremely serious” update on the takeover situation at The Hawthorns.
