We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Brom...

West Brom striker Josh Maja is expected to miss the game against Ipswich Town due to an ankle injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The Baggies host Ipswich on Saturday, 25 November, at the Hawthorns, post the resumption of the international break.

The injury expert claims that medics will ramp up intensity in training and based on how he responds, a decision will be made to ensure he’s fit to return.

Speaking exclusively with West Brom News about Dike’s injury, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said:

Considering how long he was out for, this would be a very methodical return to play.

The timeline is difficult because it really depends on how he responds to increased intensity.

“Being out with damaged ankle ligaments since September is a pretty serious injury and I don’t see him available next weekend.”

Maja has been missing in action with ankle ligament damage since September when he picked up an injury against Bristol City.

The 24-year-old has struggled since moving to the Hawthorns this summer and is still to find his way into Carlos Corberan’s plans.

He’s played five games in the league but just accumulated 91 minutes on the field of play with all his appearances coming off the bench.
