Tony Brown loses mind over ‘unbelievable’ Grady Diangana in West Brom v Ipswich
Tony Brown was blown away by the “unbelievable” counter attack that led to West Brom scoring their second goal against Ipswich on Saturday evening.
Grady Diangana doubled Albion’s lead at The Hawthorns after an attack was launched from the edge of their own penalty area in the 47th minute.
After a long run by Jed Wallace and a cute pass by Brandon Thomas-Asante, Diangana calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner of Ipswich’s goal.
Hawthorns legend Brown was absolutely delighted with the build-up play and the goal itself.
Speaking on BBC Radio WM on Saturday evening (06:37pm, 25 November), Bomber Brown said: “It was straight from Albion’s box, wasn’t it?
“Wallace to Thomas-Asante and then the finish was absolutely superb from Diangana. Quality finish. He didn’t panic through on the keeper and slid it in the corner.
“Great start to this second half, just like the first.
“Unbelievable – they broke from the edge of their own box with such pace. Unbelievable. Terrific goal.”

Super Diangana
It’s about time West Brom fans are finally treated to the Diangana who joined them on loan from West Ham back in 2019.
He was great in that season and although injuries hampered the end of it, he was instrumental in helping the Baggies win promotion to the Premier League along with Matheus Pereira.
However, since Luke Dowling made his stay at The Hawthorns permanent for up to £18million, the ex-Hammers winger has been hit with injury after injury and when he has played, he hasn’t been able to build up a head of steam to get anywhere near to what he was like back in 2019.
Fortunately, that’s changed this season.
Diangana has three goals and three assists in 12 Championship appearances now this term with all but one of those direct goal contributions coming in his last five outings.
He’s absolutely flying under Carlos Corberan.
West Brom’s counter-attacking goal against Ipswich was superb and the way Diangana finished off was an absolute delight and was a mark of a player who’s high on confidence right now.
In other West Brom news, a party from the Middle East is in takeover talks to buy the Baggies.
