John Swift returns amid two changes – West Brom predicted XI v Cardiff City

Carlos Corberan will be looking to keep the good times rolling at West Brom after their 2-0 victory against Ipswich as they face a Championship visit to Cardiff on 28 November.

The Baggies returned from the international break with one of their best performances of the season as Darnell Furlong and Grady Diangana both scored in the crucial home win.

With just three days for the Baggies to rest between their fixtures, Corberan is likely to make some changes to his side, and with a host of players returning from injury, he will have plenty to choose from.

Starting from the back, Alex Palmer will likely keep his place in between the sticks, while Corberan could go with an unchanged back four after they kept one of the Championship’s leading sides quiet for 90 minutes in the victory over Ipswich.

Semi Ajayi came off the bench to see out that game, but the impressive displays from Cedric Kipre and Kyle Bartley in that game have made them impossible to drop so the Nigerian may have to wait for his return.

In midfield, Okay Yokuslu was taken off in the 71st minute against Ipswich despite an impressive display, so should have had plenty of time to rest and recover ahead of this clash, while Alex Mowatt could drop out of the side in favour of Jayson Molumby.

Molumby came off the bench to replace Yokuslu at The Hawthorns, but Mowatt’s display proved he is the more likely midfielder to drop out. A zero per cent duel success rate, dribble success rate and shot accuracy over 90 minutes display how he struggled to make an impact despite an overall impressive performance. [Sofascore]

In attack, Jed Wallace and Grady Diangana were another pair to make themselves undroppable in their displays against Ipswich as the latter bagged the second goal of the game while Wallace has made himself a favourite of Corberan with his work rate and quality.

John Swift, Albion’s top scorer so far with six goals, returned from injury from the bench last time out, and should make his first start since his return at the Cardiff City Stadium, replacing Matt Phillips.

Phillips underwhelmed last time out, completing just 14 passes at a 67% success rate, completing just one of three dribbles and just one of six crosses, as well as missing an open goal in a disappointing display. [Sofascore]

Up top, Brandon Thomas-Asante should be set to keep his place in the side due to the recovery of Josh Maja, who was given ten minutes from the bench last time out. He will hope to find a starting place soon, but as he continues his work towards match fitness, he may only expect substitute minutes here.
