Carlos Corberan issues injury update on four West Brom stars, one player could return v Cardiff

Carlos Corberan has provided an update on the injuries of four West Brom players ahead of the game against Cardiff City on Tuesday (28 November).

Speaking to BirminghamLive on Monday (27 November), the Albion boss revealed that Nathaniel Chalobah could be in line for a return to the squad against the Bluebirds, but he will be assessed ahead of the trip to South Wales.

Elsewhere, Martin Kelly is back in training and is due to play some matches with the Baggies U-21s, while Adam Reach and Daryl Dike could be in line to return to the fold by the end of December if all goes to plan.

West Brom

Boost

It will provide a massive boost for West Brom once Dike, Reach and Kelly all return to the fold after missing several months through injury.

Corberan has done a fantastic job this season despite having a number of first-team players out, meaning he has been forced to work with a threadbare squad.

Chalobah missed the 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town on Saturday (25 November), so it will be an anxious wait to see whether he is deemed fit enough to make the squad.

It’s been a promising first half of the season for Albion after the Spanish boss has helped push them up to fifth in the Championship table despite the off-field issues.

He will be hoping the Baggies can pull off another excellent result against the Bluebirds to cement their place in the playoffs and lay down a marker in their bid to challenge for promotion this season.

In other West Brom news, a takeover development has emerged at the Hawthorns.
