Tony Brown blown away by Alex Palmer v Cardiff City, he did ‘exceptionally’ in West Brom win
West Brom goalkeeper Alex Palmer did “exceptionally” to deny Cardiff City ace Josh Bowler in the first half of their Championship clash.
That is according to the Albion’s all-time record goalscorer Tony Brown, who made the comment during the game on Tuesday (28 November).
West Brom emerged victorious from the Cardiff City Stadium with a 1-0 win, with Jeremy Sarmiento scoring the only goal of the game.

“Albion got away with it that time,” Brown said on BBC Radio WM (20.27, 28 November), as quoted by BBC Sport. “Alex Palmer has done exceptionally to keep it out there. West Brom need to be extremely aware of Josh Bowler.”
Top player
Palmer has produced countless top saves to help his team out this season, and this one against the Bluebirds was certainly no exception.

Goalkeepers are often guilty of switching off as the play takes place in front of them, but Palmer remained focused to ensure the Baggies went into the match at half-time with a strong chance of winning the match, with the scoreline finely poised at 0-0.
His super save was key to the Albion clinching a huge three points on the road, with Sarmiento finding the back of the net early in the first half.
Carlos Corberan’s men now sit third in the Championship table after the win, with 32 points to their name from their 18 matches.
The Baggies are now seven points behind Ipswich Town in second and 10 points behind league leaders Leicester City, although the Tractor Boys and the Foxes both have games in hand, which will take place on Wednesday (29 November).
In other West Brom news, one Baggies ace must be due for contract talks after his 88% display in the 2-0 win against Ipswich.
