Doctor issues injury update on West Brom midfielder Adam Reach

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Brom...

West Brom midfielder Adam Reach could be out of action for the first team for the next two or three games, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the surgery he had due to a muscle injury was actually a recurrence of something he suffered previously.

Unless he’s back into first-team training, he is expected to sit out the next few games for Carlos Corberan’s side.

Speaking exclusively with West Brom News about Reach’s injury, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said:

He had a procedure done following a recurrence of a muscular injury and his initial timeline was to return in December.

If that still is the case, then can potentially expect him back in first-team training but that would be preceded by a return to partial training and seeing how he responds to it.

He should still be out for the next two or three games unless he’s back to first-team training.

The 30-year-old anyway has been a peripheral figure for the Baggies even when he’s been fully fit for the first team.

Last season, while he may have made 18 league appearances, he started just three league games and due to his versatility, was brought off the bench on numerous occasions.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for him as he’s clearly not that high up in Corberan’s pecking order.

In other West Brom news, Guochuan Lai appears to be very close to an exit from the Hawthorns amid a recent development involving a takeover specialist.
