David Prutton predicts result of West Brom v Leicester City for Sky Sports, ‘shock’ verdict given

David Prutton has predicted that West Brom will continue their impressive run of form with victory over Leicester City this weekend.

The Baggies defeated top-six rivals Cardiff City 1-0 in South Wales on Tuesday (28 November) and enter their showdown with Leicester in fifth.

City lead the way at the top of the Championship but have struggled for form of late, taking just four points from the last 12 on offer.

West Brom

And Prutton has predicted a 2-1 win for Albion in Saturday’s (2 December) showdown at The Hawthorns.

“West Brom are on the march,” he said in his Sky Sports prediction column [30 November]. “They are looking up and have had a brilliant week.

“They were superb against Ipswich last weekend, and found a way past Cardiff as well.

“Leicester stuttered again in midweek against Sheffield Wednesday.

“It shows the standards that have been set there that any dropped points is a bit of a shock. I think they may struggle on Saturday, too.”

Statement victory

Following up victory over Ipswich Town with three points away at Cardiff City was quite the statement of intent from Carlos Corberan’s men.

With 18 games of the regular season now played, the Baggies find themselves four points clear of Blackburn Rovers in seventh.

There is still an awful long way of the campaign to go, of course, but West Brom supporters can rightly start dreaming of a trip to Wembley.

This meeting with Leicester looked rather daunting not so long ago, but the Baggies’ Midland rivals have endured a bit of a slump.

West Brom

The Foxes lost to Leeds United and Middlesbrough before the international break, before recovering with a 2-0 win against Watford.

However, a 1-1 draw against bottom side Sheffield Wednesday in midweek only highlights the fact they are there to be got at.

Albion need to just play the way they have been playing and there is no reason why a third win on the spin cannot be registered.
