Doncaster Rovers boss reveals contract clause for West Brom loanee Mo Faal
Doncaster Rovers manager Grant McCann has revealed the Yorkshire club are in talks with West Brom over their current loan deal for Mo Faal.
Faal joined the Rovers from the Baggies on a season-long loan and has been in fine form ever since, netting eight times in 24 appearances, as they steer away from the League Two relegation zone.
Having had a successful first few months with his new loan club, McCann revealed a review clause in the player’s contract, which can be invoked during the winter transfer window.

“I’ll need to double-check the contract, but there is a clause in the contract Mo and there needs to be both clubs in agreement on things like that,” he said to the Yorkshire Post on Thursday (30 November).
“These (things) are something we are working on all the time with West Brom because he has been really strong and is playing a lot of games and it’s great for his development.”
The striker position
The 20-year-old has made just two senior appearances for West Brom, experiencing loan spells at Hereford, Telford and AFC Fylde.
But as the player has experienced more loan spells, the more positive the outcome has been. While with AFC Fylde, Faal scored 10 goals in 16 games but managed zero goals in seven appearances for Telford.
Confidence is clearly a huge factor in Faal’s form, which he now has plenty of. Of course, stepping up from League Two to the Championship is a big ask but it may come to that given West Brom’s striker situation.

With Daryl Dike injured until January of next year, Brandon Thomas-Asante has been occupying the centre-forward position but the goals have dried up. Josh Maja has been unable to make an impact off the bench, and playing Matt Phillips, Jed Wallace or John Swift as a false-nine is not a long-term solution.
It could be time for Faal to return to the Hawthorns soon, with the youngster now having proven himself on many occasions. As West Brom charge for Championship promotion, Carlos Corberan will need a stacked arsenal for the remainder of the season.
Faal could be that extra option in attack to help see out victories or completely change the game when in a losing position.
In other West Brom news, the prospective owners have been proved spot on over Tom Fellows.
