Alan Nixon makes West Brom prediction ahead of Leicester City showdown
Alan Nixon believes West Brom are good value for a victory against Leicester City this weekend if they can score an early goal.
The Baggies are fifth in the Championship after maintaining their momentum with a 1-0 win at Cardiff City on Tuesday (28 November).
Leicester have taken just four points from the past 12 on offer, yet they still have an eight-point margin on third-placed Leeds United.
Asked for his prediction on Twitter [1 November], The Sun journalist Nixon said: “Baggies looked very strong at Cardiff.
“Leicester dropped a couple late. Baggies could win if score first. Might just go for a 2-1.”
Poor record v Leicester
This Midlands derby does not look as daunting as it perhaps did a month or so ago, given West Brom’s superb form and Leicester’s recent wobble.
The Baggies really are flying right now under Carlos Corberan, having won five of their past six games – the exception being a 2-1 loss at Southampton.
At The Hawthorns, they have kept a clean sheet in five of their previous six, so there is every reason they can come away from this contest with three more points.

However, West Brom have lost four of their last five league meetings with Leicester – all of those coming in the Premier League – while the Foxes have won five in a row at The Hawthorns.
Recent history suggests this contest will go just one way, then, but form counts for more and Albion should therefore prevail against the league leaders.
In other West Brom news, Sky Sports pundit David Prutton provided a “struggle” verdict in his prediction for the match.
