Doctor issues injury news on West Brom midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah v Rotherham

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Brom...

West Brom midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah is working his way to being available for the full game after his knee injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the 28-year-old had inflammation in his knee and is still recuperating from that with testing ongoing.

He may be available for the Rotherham clash on 12 December from the first minute, but that seems unlikely, as things stand.

Speaking exclusively with West Brom News about Chalobah’s injury, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said:

He had some inflammation in the knee but it sounds like testing is still underway to determine if it’s something significant or not.

Once that determination is made, then we will know much more about his progress back to playing 90 minutes.

It could be likely he’s not yet ready but they’ll be assessing this on a game-by-game basis.”

Chalobah played just four minutes against Leicester and half an hour in the 2-1 loss to Sunderland on 9 December.

The Baggies medical staff slowly appear to be ramping up his involvement in games before he’s allowed to play the full 90 minutes.

This season, the 28-year-old has featured 16 times in the league for Carlos Corberan’s side.

In other West Brom news, a near £7billion development may shape the club’s January plans with Carlos Corberan to be demanding.
