Tony Brown blasts Jayson Molumby live on BBC Radio WM in West Brom first half v Rotherham
Tony Brown blasted Jayson Molumby after what he did for West Brom in the first half of the game against Rotherham United on Tuesday (12 December).
Speaking on co-commentary for BBC West Midlands, the pundit said the Republic of Ireland international lost the ball “too easily” as he gave away possession to the Millers.
He added that the 24-year-old has “got to be stronger” in those positions after receiving the ball from fellow midfielder Okay Yoskuslu, who was recalled to the starting lineup for the game at The New York Stadium.

“Molumby lost the ball too easily there for me,” said Brown. “He’s got to be stronger.”
“It wasn’t the worst pass by Yokuslu,” replied host Steve Hermon. “It was close enough to the Irish midfielder Molumby.”
“That’s what I’ve just been saying,” added Brown. “Rotherham are closing Albion down very, very quickly when they get possession, so Albion have got to compete with them first of all.”
Must be better
It was sloppy play from Molumby to lose the ball so easily after receiving it from Yokuslu, with the midfielder fortunate that it didn’t lead to anything.
The Irishman started in a midfield three alongside Yokuslu and Alex Mowatt as Carlos Corberan looked to shore things up in the middle of the park.
He’s had a mixed season so far after previously being an ever-present for the Baggies, having largely been limited to a role off the bench over the past few months.

But Molumby has been recalled back into the starting lineup over the past two games on the back of the defeats to Leicester City and Sunderland.
While he regularly shows plenty of appetite and doesn’t shirk a challenge, question marks have been asked about his ability on the ball, so that’s an area he will be looking to improve on.
