Carlos Corberan must start Jed Wallace v Stoke City after 100% West Brom cameo against Rotherham United

West Brom recovered from back-to-back defeats to beat Rotherham United on Tuesday (12 December), having headed into the match on the back of 2-1 losses to both Leicester City and Sunderland.

But a much-needed three points were picked up on the road in their latest clash, with Grady Diangana and Jed Wallace scoring in the 2-0 win against the Millers.

The latter particularly impressed given how he managed to find the back of the net despite playing just 24 minutes at the New York Stadium.

Corberan is understandably chopping and changing his starting XI amid a busy period for his players, but resting Wallace from the start is simply not an option next time out.

The Albion welcome Stoke City to The Hawthorns on Sunday (17 December), in what is certain to be another tricky one for Corberan’s men.

They will need to be at full strength from the very first whistle, and as shown during his cameo against Rotherham, Wallace is among the club’s leading players.

Fortunately for Corberan and the West Brom faithful, the versatile attacker is seemingly back at full fitness having missed those meetings with the Foxes and the Black Cats.

Journalist Joseph Chapman is certainly expecting to see the 29-year-old get the nod from the start against Stoke due to the player not suffering from “the type of setback where you’d have to be especially wary,” as per Birmingham Live (13 December).

In other West Brom news, the Baggies have been handed a fresh Premier League incentive that can ease the financial woes at The Hawthorns.
