West Brom: Adrian Goldberg urges caution over latest takeover talk at The Hawthorns
Adrian Goldberg says West Brom supporters must remain cautious with regards to the takeover situation amid the latest reports.
John Percy reported for The Telegraph last month that talks are progressing with multiple interested potential buyers, including parties from the United States and Nigeria.
The respected journalist later added on Twitter [29 November] that the plan was to have a deal concluded by January.

While that update got supporters excited about Guochuan Lai’s time at The Hawthorns coming to an end, Goldberg has urged caution.
Speaking on The Liquidator podcast [18 December, 14m 10s], former BBC broadcaster Goldberg said: “We’re told talks between West Brom and two parties are advancing.
“What does that really tell us? It tell us that talks haven’t finished, but are progressing. Whether that will lead to a successful conclusion to the talks is another matter entirely.”
Co-host Chris Lepkowski added: “Read what’s being written very carefully. These stories entice you to read them, but you have to read the actual words being used.
“There’s nothing that’s been written that says it will definitely be done by this point or that point.”
Time-consuming process
Supporters are clinging onto any last piece of information they can get right now, which is what made last month’s update from John Percy so exciting.
It was even implied that a deal would go through before 2023 was out, meaning less chance of any players having to be sold in the January transfer window.
While these processes can often conclude in the blink of an eye, it is looking increasingly unlikely that anything will be finalised in the coming fortnight.

That is not to say what Percy previously reported was incorrect, but rather than the process is taking a lot of time – as you would expect.
The most important thing is that new owners are in place in the coming weeks, or else there is the possibility of another loan having to be taken out to help with the daily running costs.
The longer this drags out, the more concerned fans will begin to grow.
