Phil McNulty moots Premier League job for West Brom manager Carlos Corberan
West Brom manager Carlos Corberan could manage a Premier League club soon, according to BBC Sport Chief football writer Phil McNulty.
The journalist made the same prediction regarding Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna, who is forging a “big reputation” at the club.
Ipswich currently occupy second place in the Championship table, with the Baggies sitting fifth, with both clubs having played 22 games each.

On a BBC Sport Q&A, McNulty was asked the question: “With a few managers in precarious positions there might be a few more sackings before the season is done. Which managers, who haven’t managed in the Premier League before, would you like to see have a go at a Premier League team?”
The journalist replied: “I am not keen on talking about managers getting sacked but if you want to me throw contenders in I would say Carlos Corberan at West Bromwich Albion (although Baggies fans will want him to get there with them).
“The same applies to Kieran McKenna at Ipswich Town. He is forging a big reputation and might be managing in the top flight next season without having to move.”

Worrying?
West Brom supporters certainly won’t want to lose their talented manager anytime soon, but that might be the case if the club fail to get promoted this time around.
The man in the dugout at The Hawthorns has proven his tactical nous time and again, but has unfortunately had to deal with several off-field issues at the Midlands club.
Such issues make his feats at the Albion all the more impressive, but worryingly for fans it means he may be catching the eye of clubs above them in English football.
For now, however, the manager will be firmly focused on a promotion challenge, with the Baggies on 36 points so far.
That total leaves them six points behind both Leeds United and Southampton, 16 points behind Ipswich, and 19 points behind league leaders Leicester City.
There is, of course, still a long way to go, but West Brom need to start picking up more wins if they are to have a real chance of promotion under Corberan this time around.
In other West Brom news, Tony Brown has named one player as “the reason” behind the recent 1-1 draw against Stoke City.
