West Brom injury news: Doctor shares return and training update on Daryl Dike
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Brom...
West Brom striker could be set to return before or shortly after Christmas from his Achilles injury setback, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that his first-team return will be based on how he responds to the increased intensity of group training, having largely been working on individual drills thus far.
Birmingham Live reported on 13 December that he’s on course to return soon with Carlos Corberan sharing a timeline of the final week of the year and the Baggies sharing his footage on Twitter last month.
Speaking exclusively with West Brom News about Dike’s situation, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said:
“If everything goes well, it sounds like his return will be near to or slightly after Christmas.
“Much of it depends on how he responds to the increase in intensity of group training.
“He’ll be kept a close eye on in the coming days and may make an appearance off the bench in the coming days/weeks based on his fitness.“

The 23-year-old made 23 league appearances for the Baggies last season and found the back of the net on seven occasions.
Had he been available for the entirety of the season, the chances of them making it to the play-offs would have significantly increased.
It remains to be seen if his arrival can spur the team on in the second half of the campaign as a top-six finish is already looking on the cards.
In other West Brom news, a near £7billion development may shape the club’s January plans with Carlos Corberan to be demanding.
