Sky Sports host predicts West Brom v Norwich score, details Carlos Corberan admission

David Prutton has predicted that West Brom will make it three Championship games without a win when they face Norwich City on Tuesday 26 December.

The Sky Sports presenter believes that Carlos Corberan’s side will be unable to get back to winning ways at The Hawthorns on Boxing Day, suggesting that they will only manage to pick up a point, predicting that it will be a 1-1 draw.

Norwich are unbeaten in their last five Championship matches, while the Baggies come into this off the back of a defeat to Middlesbrough which Corberan admitted Albion deserved and Prutton has urged them to improve quickly.

West Brom

Writing in his Sky Sports Championship predictions (24 December) he said: “West Brom have just dipped a little in terms of performance in their last couple of games. Carlos Corberan admitted his side deserved to be beaten at Middlesbrough on Saturday, and they need to up their level.

“Norwich have climbed up the table again, and the crisis appears to be over under David Wagner. A win here would be a real statement, but I think the spoils will be shared at The Hawthorns.”

Get back to winning ways

The advantage of the fixture congestion around the festive period is the fact that teams don’t have to wait too long to have a chance to bounce back from a disappointing defeat and that is exactly the opportunity West Brom have against Norwich.

Albion were far from their best against Middlesbrough and it is hard to disagree with Corberan and Prutton’s assessment that they deserved to be beaten, but that honesty will only take the Baggies so far and now they need to turn up.

West Brom

Norwich have been in impressive form, but it wasn’t too long ago that this season was being labelled a disaster at Carrow Road. West Brom have more than enough ability to better Prutton’s prediction and claim all three points in this Boxing Day clash.

Hopefully, the performance is much improved at The Hawthorns and if it is, the result will likely follow. West Brom need to get back to winning ways and Tuesday’s clash is the perfect opportunity.
