Tim Sherwood raves at ‘perfect’ moment in West Brom v Norwich live on Sky Sports

Tim Sherwood was left gushing at one “perfect” moment in the first half of West Brom v Norwich City live on Sky Sports News on Monday (26 December).

Former Tottenham boss Sherwood was covering the game on Sky and was particularly impressed by a delivery from Jed Wallace, from which John Swift swept an effort against the left upright.

It was the work of Wallace that really left Sherwood raving, in a game where Brandon Thomas-Asante’s second-half goal was enough to earn West Brom a 1-0 win.

Sherwood said: “They’ve had total control of the game West Brom and they created one of the best chances here and if you want it to fall to anyone it’s Jonathan Swift and it falls for him.

“It’s Wallace out on the right-hand side, he picks his head up, clever player this boy, knows where to deliver it, perfect cross, Swift thinks he’s scored and it hits the upright and comes back out. Domination, totally from West Bromwich Albion.”

Excellent play

It was great for the Baggies fans to see Swift involved after some more injury woe recently and it was even more great for the home supporters to see him linking up with another key man in skipper Wallace.

It was a terrific bit of play from Wallace, who left the visiting defence for dead and glided towards the Norwich box before the ball in an excellent area for Swift to attack, and the crowd waited with bated breath.

Only, the net did not bulge as Swift slightly over rotated the ball, which cannonned off the left post and went careering to safety, much to the chagrin of the Baggies faithful and Carlos Corberan.

Sherwood was right to be waxing lyrical over this moment, though, and it should give the West Brom fans confidence moving forward that two of their best attacking outlets are back linking up and creating. Long may that continue.
