Carlos Corberan wields the axe as John Swift call made – confirmed West Brom XI vs Norwich City

West Brom boss Carlos Corberan has named his starting line-up for Tuesday’s (26 December) Championship clash with Norwich City.

The Baggies are looking to respond following their 1-0 loss at Sunderland on Saturday (23 December) – their third defeat in five league outings.

Corberan has made one change to his side from that defeat, as confirmed by Albion’s official Twitter account [26 December].

John Swift is back in the starting line-up for the first time in four games, having made his return from injury as a substitute in the loss to Middlesbrough.

Jeremy Sarmiento is the player to make way as he drops down to the substitutes’ bench, where he is joined by the likes of Jayson Molumby and Adam Reach.

Pipa is a notable absentee from the matchday squad, with that believed to be down to a knock sustained last time out.

Time to bounce back

West Brom are still in a very strong position in the Championship table, sitting as they do in fifth place.

However, the margin for error has decreased after collecting just four points from the past 15 on offer in a disappointing run.

That has allowed the chasing pack to close in, and a failure to beat Norwich could see Corberan’s men drop out of the top six come the end of today.

Albion’s players looked extremely leggy at the Riverside Stadium, so changes were expected to be made against Norwich.

However, Corberan has elected to make just the one alteration – fit-again Swift coming in for Sarmiento.

Fingers crossed that change proves enough to spark some life into the Baggies in this crucial contest on home soil.
