David Prutton predicts result of West Brom showdown v Leeds United for Sky Sports
David Prutton has predicted that West Brom will extend their unbeaten run to two matches when they face Leeds United on Friday 29 December.
The Sky Sports presenter believes that Carlos Corberan’s side will be able to build upon their “decent” result against Norwich City on Boxing Day and maintain their place in the Championship’s top six, predicting that the Baggies and Leeds will draw 1-1.
Leeds United have found themselves cut adrift in the race for the automatic promotion places having lost 2-1 to Preston North End on Boxing Day and Prutton believes that they’ll be unable to bounce back with three points at The Hawthorns.

Writing in his Sky Sports Championship predictions (27 December) he said: “West Brom are doing enough to stay in the top six right now, and with the top two over the hill and far away, that is all they can really do this season.
They took a decent win over Norwich on Boxing Day, although it probably should have been more comfortable after the early red card. After all that brilliance against Ipswich, Leeds let it slip at Preston.
“It is so typical of this league and they have it all to do again. Score draw for me.”
Huge clash
West Brom have managed to maintain their place in the Championship playoff places over the first half of the season despite the small squad at Corberan’s disposal and a recent injury crisis at The Hawthorns.
Somehow, Albion have managed to consistently pick up points to keep pace with the teams around them and they will be hoping that they can give their promotion hopes a huge boost on Friday when Leeds make the trip to The Hawthorns.

Daniel Farke’s side were one of the favourites to win the Championship this season but have been unable to close the gap to Leicester and Ipswich at the top of the table. They have plenty of talent in their squad, but they have shown in recent weeks that they are beatable.
When you’re in the hunt for the playoffs, taking points from the teams around you becomes just as important as picking up points yourself. If West Brom can match or better Prutton’s prediction, it will be an excellent result for the Baggies.
