Darren Bent predicts result of ‘weird’ West Brom showdown with Leeds United live on talkSPORT
Darren Bent has predicted that West Brom will pick up consecutive Championship wins when they face Leeds United at The Hawthorns on Friday 29 December.
The talkSPORT pundit believes that Carlos Corberan’s side will be able to build upon their win over Norwich City on Boxing Day when they face Daniel Farke’s Leeds under the lights, suggesting they’ll claim all three points in a 2-1 victory.
Leeds United are one place above Albion sitting fourth in the Championship but are targeting automatic promotion this season, however, Bent believes that West Brom will put another big dent into the Whites’ top two charge.

Speaking on talkSPORT (29 December, 16:41) he said: “It’s a bit of a weird one that they want him because you look at West Brom as well, their form is patchy as well. They beat Norwich in the last game, but before that, they lost to Middlesbrough, drew with Stoke
“Yeah, they beat Rotherham but lost to Sunderland, lost to Leicester. It’s not like he’s pulling up trees. I do like Carlos Corberan, he’s a good manager,
“I’m going Baggies win, West Brom win. 2-1.”
Would be a huge result
West Brom are heading into Friday night’s clash as second favourites given Leeds United’s remarkable form, especially going forward, this season but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t capable of picking up all three points against the Whites.
Corberan’s side have managed to better most supporters’ expectations so far this season and they have been impressive in the opening months of the campaign, particularly against some of the Championship’s leading teams.

If the Baggies can keep the likes of Crysencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter and Joel Piroe quiet, they have the attacking talent to punish Farke’s side, but they’ll have to be at their best defensively to shut down some of the Championship’s best forwards.
Should Albion claim all three points on Friday night, it will be a huge boost to their top-six hopes this season. This will be one of the tougher games of their campaign, but that also makes it one of the most important.
