Martin Kelly and Adam Reach could quit West Brom in January, Tom Fellows exit news also emerges from The Hawthorns
Senior West Brom players Martin Kelly and Adam Reach could be on the move in the January transfer window, according to Darren Witcoop.
The Sunday Mirror journalist, taking to his personal Twitter account (31 December), reports that both players could quit in January but West Brom are keen to add to their ranks rather than lose players.
Youngster Tom Fellows is also attracting interest from elsewhere with his current contract at the club running until next summer.
Witcoop posted: “West Brom keen to add rather than lose players but full-back Martin Kelly and winger Adam Reach could be on the move in January. Forward Tom Fellows also attracting interest.”
Sell to add
It’s no secret that West Brom are going through serious financial constraints right now with their Premier League parachute payments done and the mismanagement from majority stakeholder Guochuan Lai.
Carlos Corberan certainly needs to add to his squad in the January window if their playoff push is to be maintained but in order for that to happen, a few stars may have to be sold and fringe players taken off the wage bill.

Reach and Kelly are two of Corberan’s senior players in the squad but both have been blighted by injuries and fitness issues over the past year and their limited minutes and opportunities certainly means their days at the club may be up.
Those two players could well be on considerable pay packages right now and it would make a lot of sense for West Brom to free up space on the wage bill by letting go of both players.
However, Fellows must be kept on at the club given his stunning potential and youthful quality. Even if West Brom were forced to sell the winger, it may not be for a considerable fee given his current contract status.
However, the Baggies can’t even renew contracts for some of their players given the club’s position financially which leaves them in a sticky position in January. It could well be a crucial month in the club’s long-term future, with a potential takeover long in the works.
In other West Brom news, a lack of any update on the takeover situation could prove a cause for concern.
