Daryl Dike sends message as West Brom transfer announcement made, ‘gonna miss you’
West Brom star Daryl Dike has sent a message to Jeremy Sarmiento after the latter returned to parent club Brighton.
As per the official Brighton website (1 January), the winger has been recalled from his loan spell at The Hawthorns from the Seagulls.
The Premier League club added that Sarmiento played 21 times for the Baggies in the first half of the season, scoring twice.

Taking to Instagram (1 January) following his exit, Sarmiento wrote: “Dear Baggies, my time at the club has come to an end. I’ve enjoyed every second of it and I’ve met amazing people throughout this journey. Thank you everyone at West Brom for the support and I wish you all the best in the future.”
Among those replying to the winger on Instagram was star striker Dike, who commented: “All the best my bro. Gonna miss you.”

Big miss
With seven starts and 14 substitute appearances, it wasn’t exactly a fantastic loan for West Brom or for Sarmiento himself.
The Ecuador international definitely would have wanted more game time at The Hawthorns, and he would have also wanted to score more goals during his time there.
But the winger still produced some important moments under Carlos Corberan, and his presence will certainly be missed around The Hawthorns.
It remains to be seen exactly what Roberto De Zerbi has in store for Sarmiento, but given the recall halfway through the season, another loan elsewhere can be expected.
As for West Brom, the exit means Corberan simply has to delve into the transfer window, particularly given the potential injuries and suspensions that can arise at this key stage of the season.
For now, however, the other attackers must continue to produce top displays under Corberan as the Baggies look to continue pushing up the Championship table.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies are in talks to sign a Wolves player in the January transfer window.
