West Brom look to seal first January transfer with Liverpool approach for Fabio Carvalho – Fabrizio Romano

West Brom have seemingly made an approach to sign Liverpool forward Fabio Carvalho on loan for the rest of the season with the transfer window in full swing.

Writing on his personal Twitter account (6 January), reliable transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reported that Premier League side Wolves have made an offer for the young Portuguese forward after he returned from a failed spell at RB Leipzig this month.

But interestingly Romano also mentioned that the top 6 Championship clubs have also asked for a loan, with Liverpool yet to make a decision on where they will send the 21-year-old.

Based on that West Brom, Leicester City, Leeds United, Ipswich Town, Southampton and Sunderland have also made their interest known and made an offer.

With that level of competition for such a talented player, the Baggies will surely be looking to get an answer and deal locked in as quickly as possible.

And it would be the sensible thing to do considering what this West Brom team needs and the type of player that would really take the team to a new level.

At just 21 Carvalho has already shown that he is more than good enough to take the Championship by storm after his stunning campaign for Fulham which earned him the move to Liverpool in the first place.

But he has shown during his time at Anfield that he is more than willing to press hard, run for the team and do the defensive dirty work that Carlos Corberan will demand from his forwards.

With injuries being a real issue for West Brom this season, adding that level of quality to the side for the second half of the season not only improves the options of the squad and replaces Jeremy Sarmiento but also upgrades on him.

If there is any chance for the club to seal this deal, then then must go all out to secure his signature.
