West Brom transfer news: Tom Fellows wanted at Everton as contract at The Hawthorns ticks down – Fabrizio Romano

Everton are eyeing up Tom Fellows as a potential signing when his West Brom contract expires in the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Reporting via Twitter the Italian journalist said that the “excellent” Albion attacker is someone who is liked by the prospective new owners at Goodison Park, 777 Partners.

Their possible plan would be to land Fellows, 20, on a free at the end of the season and then loan him back out for more experience.

“Everton are monitoring 2003 born talent Tom Fellows at WBA over potential summer move, as he’s out of contract in June,” Romano wrote.

“He’s been excellent for WBA this season, also scored first goal in FA Cup. 777 Partners like the player and could consider to sign then loan Fellows.”

Unless the West Brom takeover is concluded before the end of the campaign Fellows is bound to generate plenty of interest given his potential and his contract status.

The Baggies have already entered into talks over a new deal for the versatile wide man [Birmingham Live, 6 January], who spent last season on loan at Crawley Town, suggesting new ownership might not be far away.

There is also interest from promotion rivals in the Championship, with Southampton and Leicester on his case, and the Daily Mail reported on 11 November that the prospective new West Brom owners are also keen to keep hold of him.

It still remains to be seen whether the takeover at The Hawthorns or Goodison Park gets over the line first, but for Carlos Corberan’s sake it needs to be the former.

West Brom have been hamstrung in recent windows by an almost-total lack of transfer budget given the financial concerns off the field, something that Everton can identify with.

So it is perhaps no surprise that both clubs are hoping to have a developing youngster, who scored and assisted in the 4-1 FA Cup win over Aldershot at the weekend, secured.

In other West Brom news, the Albion are chasing an international striker who looks to be available for loan after a prolific campaign last term.
