Jamie Carragher predicts result of West Brom Championship clash v Blackburn Rovers

Jamie Carragher has made his prediction ahead of the Championship clash between West Brom and Blackburn Rovers this weekend.

The Baggies claimed a thumping 4-1 win over Aldershot in the FA Cup 3rd round in their last outing, while Blackburn earned a dominant 5-2 win over Cambridge United in their own clash.

And now Sky Sports pundit Carragher has made his picks for the weekend games on Super 6 (11 January), and tipped Carlos Corberan’s side for a 2-0 win at The Hawthorns to keep up their playoff charge.

Momentum

West Brom have been struggling for form in recent weeks with two defeats in their last four Championship games, including their last clash with Swansea on New Year’s Day.

But the wins came against Norwich and promotion chasing Leeds United, showing that they are more than capable of beating the top teams in the division.

Losing Jeremey Sarmiento to promotion rivals Ipswich is obviously a huge blow, but Corberan knows the squad he has and with Daryl Dike coming back into the fold that’s a big boost to the team.

West Brom

Blackburn have been struggling massively with four defeats and a draw from their last five league games, and with The Hawthorns bound to be rocking for the first home league game of the year they have a chance to really build some momentum.

Momentum is a powerful thing in the Championship and the boss and the team know that. This is a chance for a big win and to prove Mr. Carragher right while improving our chances of getting back to the Premier League.
