West Brom: Fabrizio Romano drops Cedric Kipre exit news at The Hawthorns, Premier League transfer on the cards
West Brom defender Cedric Kipre could be set to leave the Baggies in 2024, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist reported via his personal X account (12 January) that the centre-back, whose current deal with West Brom expires in the summer, could be on the move this year.
Clubs from the Premier League, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga are all tracking the Frenchman’s situation.
Kipre is enjoying a fine season in the Championship, having started 25 of the club’s 26 league games and helping his side to keep 11 clean sheets.
Frustrating
After Kipre’s impressive performances for Carlos Corberan’s side this season, not only would it be a blow if West Brom were to lose the defender, but losing him on a free would make that blow all the more painful.
For clubs tracking him, Kipre could be a fantastic coup. He is still just 27 years old and has time on his side to play at the highest level for at least a few more years.
With clubs from some of Europe’s top leagues tracking the defender, West Brom might find it difficult to convince him to stay put. However, they will hope to at least keep hold of him until the end of the season.

The Baggies are enjoying a fine campaign, sitting fifth in the Championship, three points clear of Hull City in seventh place as they chase a play-off place and potential return to England’s top flight.
Keeping hold of Kipre could prove key in that chase, and were they to make a return to the Premier League, West Brom would likely then find it much easier to convince the former PSG man to stick around.
In other West Brom news, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has offered his prediction for the club’s clash with Blackburn Rovers.
