Adam Reach may have started final West Brom game v Blackburn after January exit development at The Hawthorns

West Brom veteran Adam Reach may well have started his last game at The Hawthorns with the forward expected to be on the move this month.

Carlos Corberan made the surprise decision to start the 30-year-old forward in the 4-1 win over Blackburn Rovers on Saturday (13 January) with Jed Wallace only fit enough to feature on the bench following his return from injury.

However, that may not mean Reach will be part of Corberan’s squad in the long term with an exit update emerging at West Brom recently.

The Sunday Mirror Darren Witcoop journalist, taking to his personal Twitter account (31 December), shared that Martin Kelly and Reach could be on the move in the January transfer window.

It is believed that both players could quit in January but West Brom are keen to add to their ranks rather than lose players.

It’s no secret that West Brom are going through serious financial constraints right now with their Premier League parachute payments done among other issues.

Corberan certainly needs to add to his squad in the January window if their playoff push is to be maintained but for that to happen, a few stars may have to be sold and fringe players taken off the wage bill.

Reach and Kelly are two of Corberan’s senior players in the squad but both have been blighted by injuries and fitness issues over the past year and their limited minutes and opportunities certainly means their days at the club may be up.

Reach starting against Blackburn Rovers certainly comes as a surprise to many West Brom fans given the recent exit development but it seems as if Corberan handed him his Championship swansong at the club with one final appearance.

Kelly and Reach could well be on considerable pay packages right now and it would make a lot of sense for West Brom to free up space on the wage bill by letting go of both players.

The win against Blackburn could well be the last West Brom fans see of the senior Hawthorns forward.
