Bournemouth star Alex Scott sends three-word message to Andi Weimann after West Brom done deal

Bournemouth star Alex Scott has sent a three-word message to Andi Weimann after he joined West Brom from Bristol City.

As per the official Albion website (15 January), the 32-year-old attacker has moved to The Hawthorns on a loan deal.

The Austria international, who has been handed the number 17 shirt, has joined the Baggies for the remainder of the season.

“Me and my family have had five 1/2 amazing years at Bristol City, from the moment I signed until today I have made so many memories that will stick with me forever,” Weimann posted on Instagram.

“I have made friends for life and have met some truly amazing people. To be club captain was a huge honour and I can truly say every time I put on the shirt I gave 100%. Thank you for everything and see you soon. Andi.”

Among those replying to Weimann was his former Bristol City teammate and Bournemouth ace Scott, who wrote: “What a guy.”

Emotional exit

Scott knows Weimann very well, with the duo having played together at Ashton Gate, with the former only leaving the club in the summer to join Bournemouth.

He has since made eight appearances in all competitions for the Cherries, scoring once and registering three assists in his injury-hit campaign thus far.

Weimann meanwhile knows all about playing in the top flight, having made over 100 Premier League appearances. The Austrian will now be doing all he can to get West Brom back in the big time, with the Baggies currently sitting fifth in the Championship table.

Carlos Corberan’s men have a great chance of making the play-offs this season, but the man in the dugout clearly felt that more firepower was needed.

The experienced Weimann has now been brought to The Hawthorns in order to achieve that goal, but it remains to be seen just how much of an impact he can have.
