West Brom injury update emerges on Tom Fellows at The Hawthorns after absence v Norwich City

West Brom forward Tom Fellows is expected to be fit and ready to feature against Wolves in the FA Cup next Sunday (28 January), according to Jonny Drury.

The Express & Star journalist, shared (21 January) that the good news is that Fellows only missed Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Norwich at Carrow Road through illness so is expected to return for the Black Country derby.

Fellows did not travel with the squad for the game after journalist Lewis Cox revealed (20 January) that there was a bug going around the club before the game.

Drury, writing on his Baggies Bitesize column wrote: “The good news is that it was just an illness, and it looks as if he will be back for the derby. He is the type of player who could be key next week.”

Sorely missed

After the news of Jayson Molumby facing a spell on the sidelines and Okay Yokuslus coming off Saturday’s defeat with an injury, the Baggies fans will have been forgiven for going into panic mode once again after Fellows’ absence.

The West Brom youngster has unexpectedly become a key figure for Carlos Corberan and his youthful exuberance, energy and attacking thurst was sorely missed with Adam Reach and Jed Wallace failing to set the tone in attack.

Fellows was supposed to be the backup option in the squad given the spate of injuries right now but he’s incredibly grabbed the initiative in Corberan’s thinking to become a certainty in the Baggies XI.

His expected return in what will be a huge and rampant FA Cup clash against Wolves at The Hawthorns will be incredibly crucial and just the tonic West Brom need if they’re going to pull off a win over their fierce rivals and neighbours.

West Brom

With plenty of interest in his services because of his contract running out in June, West Brom must keep him around for the future. What kind of message will the club be sending out if he is allowed to leave for nothing? Not a good one.

In other West Brom news, a near £7billion development may shape the club’s January plans with Carlos Corberan to be demanding.
