Doctor issues West Brom injury news with Josh Maja update shared
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Brom.
West Brom attacker Josh Maja is expected to still be in pain after his ankle ligament surgery recently, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert does not see him returning to training until April and it’s then on how he responds to the intensity.
Per Birmingham Live, the Nigeria international confirmed that he had successfully undergone surgery and cannot wait to be back in action.
Speaking exclusively with West Brom News about Maja’s situation, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said: “He will very likely be in pain considering he had a surgical intervention.
“The physios will be looking to get him up and walking as soon as possible with a methodical process along the way including gradually working on strength, mobility and neuromuscular control.
“If everything goes as per plan, he’ll be back in training by April.”
The 25-year-old’s Hawthorns career has not gotten off to the best possible start as he’s struggled to find a way into Carlos Corberan’s plans.

In nine league appearances, Maja has managed to find the back of the net just once and he’s come off the bench on eight occasions.
Despite playing nine games, he has been on the pitch for a grand total of just 169 minutes, which undoubtedly is not ideal to increase his match sharpness.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies are now extremely keen on securing a deal for a Premier League striker in January who made headlines this season.
