West Brom transfer news as Baggies eyes January move for Celtic attacker Mikey Johnston
West Brom are exploring a move for Celtic attacker Mikey Johnston in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported on its website on Tuesday (23 January) that the Baggies are interested in signing the Republic of Ireland international alongside his Hoops teammate Liel Abada.
The 24-year-old winger, who came through the ranks at Celtic Park, featured twice for the Glasgow club in the Champions League earlier this season.
Make it happen
This is a signing that’s potentially worth West Brom pursuing as Johnston would certainly add some extra quality to Carlos Corberan’s attacking options.
The Spanish boss has had to deal with a number of injuries in the forward areas this season, so an extra body would help share the load in the second half of the campaign.
The 24-year-old spent the first few months of the season sidelined through injury, but he has featured 11 times since returning to full fitness back in November.

The winger can play on either side of the pitch and has a reasonable degree of experience under his belt, having made 91 appearances for Celtic to go alongside the 31 games he played for Portuguese side Guimaraes last season.
It will be interesting to see whether the Hoops entertain an offer from Albion should they decide to ramp up their interest in signing him this month.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies must act now to avoid one star leaving after a concerning development has emerged.
