West Brom want to sign Liel Abada on loan as ‘challenging’ situation emerges for Celtic ace

West Brom are set to join the race to sign Liel Abada on loan from Celtic in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported on its website on Tuesday (23 January) that the Baggies are eyeing a move for the Israeli international alongside fellow Championship sides Watford and Southampton, while there is also interest from Ligue 1 and Bundesliga clubs.

It added that the 22-year-old has come under sustained pressure from his homeland after some of the Scottish club’s supporters have shared a pro-Palestinian stance following the recent conflicts – a situation the winger has found “challenging”.

Interesting

This is an extremely interesting update as West Brom look to set to join a number of other clubs in their bids to sign Abada on loan this month.

It’s quite a unique opportunity that is potentially being presented as the Israeli has been a key first-team player at Celtic Park over the past two years.

He made 47 appearances for the Hoops last season as he helped them to the SPFL title once again, having scored 13 goals and laid on nine assists.

The winger has been sidelined for a number of months during this campaign with a torn thigh muscle, but he has returned to action over the past few weeks.

It sounds as though the situation in Glasgow has become quite difficult at this moment in time, so if a loan move is on the cards, then Albion should be interested in securing his signature on a temporary basis.

In other West Brom news, the Baggies must act now to avoid one star leaving after a concerning development has emerged.
