West Brom transfer news emerges as Trabzonspor want to sign Okay Yokuslu

Trabzonspor could make an attempt to sign Okay Yokuslu from West Brom at the end of the season as he has become part of their transfer plans, according to Sports Digitale.

The Turkish news outlet reported via their Twitter account on 24 January that any deal for Yokuslu would take place at the end of the season as he will see out the current season at West Brom.

This has emerged after they failed in a transfer move for Arsenal midfielder Jorginho, with Yokuslu the next option on their agenda to bolster their midfield options.

Can Albion afford to lose him?

Yokuslu has been one of the most consistently impressive performers under Carlos Corberan so far this season, and has been a big miss when unavailable in the middle of the park.

The likes of Jason Molumby and Nathaniel Chalobah could step up if needed, but neither have shown the quality or consistency of Yokuslu when called upon to fill the gap he leaves, which could see a significant drop of quality in the starting lineup at The Hawthorns.

He has regularly been linked with moves out of the club but nothing has every materialised, however if Trabzonspor are going to wait until the end of the season to make their approach, they will likely have more of a chance of completing the deal than coming half-way through the season.

Plenty could change between now and the end of the season, with a takeover likely to be finalised and, with West Brom currently occupying a playoff spot, even a surprise promotion, both of which will directly impact the likelihood of this deal.
