Alan Brazil baffled by West Brom v Wolves development for Hawthorns clash, Ray Parlour reacts like on talkSPORT
Alan Brazil believes it’s bizzarre that the West Brom game against Wolves is kicking off at 11:45am following police advice and TV scheduling.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Friday (26 January, 07:53am), the host said the Wanderers fans will be looking to end their 11-match run without a win at the Hawthorns, but that it will be a “fantastic” occasion when the two sides meet in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday (28 January).
Parlour added that he’s looking forward to the clash as he believes it’ll be a “really good atmosphere” with a packed house inside the stadium.
“It bizarrely kicks off at 11:45 due to the advice of the police as well as TV scheduling,” said Brazil. “Wolves fans will be keen to end their 11-match run without a win on Albion soil, a run stretching back to September 1996.
“By the way, Albion’s defensive record is very good, but I thought Wolves were good against Brighton in the last game, I thought they played really well.
“It will be nervous, of course, but it’s going to be fantastic. It is a big derby. I tell you what, Wolves are a big club. West Brom, I had some great games against West Brom.”
“They are a big club,” said Ray Parlour. “I’m looking forward to that. I’m sure it will be a packed house, the fans make it, the away fans make it a really good atmosphere. West Brom have got a decent record.”
Plenty at stake
It should be a great occasion when the two sides meet on Sunday as it’s been 12 years since they last played each other with supporters in the stadium.
There will be plenty of nerves kicking about the Hawthorns, but surely all of the pressure is on Wolves because they are the Premier League club and would be expected to win the game.
West Brom certainly won’t want to give up their incredible record against Wanderers, though, having not lost to them at home since 1996.

Carlos Corberan will be looking for his side to be strong at the back but also be clinical in front of goal because it could be a game of fine margins.
But these are absolutely the type of matches you live for as a football fan as a place in the FA Cup fifth round is at stake alongside the local bragging rights.
