Okay Yokuslu shares two-word message amid West Brom exit speculation ahead of FA Cup clash v Wolves
West Brom midfielder Okay Yokuslu has shared a two-word message via social media amid speculation he could be set to return to Turkey in January.
As per Beyaz Gazete (24 January), there is a “high probability” that the 29-year-old will re-sign for Trabzonspor, where he played for three years between 2015 and 2018.
Amid these links, and ahead of the Black Country derby between the Baggies and Wolves at The Hawthorns in the fourth round of the FA Cup (Sunday 28 January), Yokuslu has posted a two-word message to supporters via his official X account (25 January).
The former Turkey international posted a picture of himself in training with the caption, “Big week’, followed by a blue and white heart emoji.
Double meaning
Of course, the choice of emojis and the timing of the post suggests that Yokuslu is referring to the clash with Wolves on Sunday when he describes this week as a big one. After all, it doesn’t get much bigger than the Black Country Derby.
Although, with links suggesting he could be on the move this month, and just a week left in the transfer window, perhaps the more sceptical West Brom supporters would suggest the message is slightly more cryptic than it first appears on the surface.
While he could be simply referring to the action on the pitch, it is hard to ignore that this week could also be a big one for Yokuslu on a personal level, with his future unclear.
Yokuslu has been a key player for Carlos Corberan this season, starting 25 Championship matches, and the club will hope to keep hold of him. However, it was always a known fact that sales in January might be necessary.
For now, West Brom fans will have to wait and see exactly why this week is so big for Yokulsu.
In other West Brom news, Steve Bull experienced a few issues as he aimed a dig at the Baggies ahead of the showdown with Wolves.
