West Brom star Alex Mowatt seems to mock ex-Leeds United teammate Kalvin Phillips after West Ham United transfer news

West Brom star Alex Mowatt has seemingly mocked Kalvin Phillips after the latter completed a move to West Ham United.

The England international has joined the East London club on a loan deal from Manchester City until the end of the season.

The two midfielders were once teammates at Leeds United, having both come through the West Yorkshire club’s academy.

Phillips took to social media to share the news, posting on Instagram: “Delighted to sign for West Ham for the remainder of the season. Can’t wait to get started!”

And among the long list of players sending messages of support was Baggies ace Mowatt, who wrote: “Nice phill tricky winger,” followed by the number 11.

Delight

Not only Phillips is delighted with his move to the London Stadium, but countless players and ex-professionals have been sending all sorts of messages of support.

The people watching on are clearly desperate for Phillips to succeed in East London, having watched his career slowly decline following his move to Manchester City.

It was once a very exciting time for the midfielder after his Elland Road exit, but things simply didn’t go to plan for the player or for the Manchester outfit in terms of the deal.

The England man now has the chance to prove his worth to the West Ham faithful, and indeed Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate, who will no doubt be following the midfielder’s performances very closely.

West Brom

He will have a big job to do in midfield over the coming months, with the same to be said of West Brom ace Mowatt as the Albion continue their push for promotion back to the Premier League.

In other West Brom news, a Premier League player has sent a three-word message to Andi Weimann after a career milestone for the forward.
