West Brom transfer news: Update emerges on West Ham United striker Callum Marshall
West Brom have announced the signing of West Ham striker Callum Marshall who’s understood to be rated highly, according to Lewis Cox.
The Express and Star journalist claimed on 26 January that the Hammers forward’s fierce goal-scoring record with the under-21s saw the Baggies make a move for him.
He is the second January arrival at the Hawthorns with the side keen on securing promotion back to the Premier League.
Cox wrote on Twitter: “WBA confirm loan signing of West Ham NI hotshot Callum Marshall, 19, for the remainder of season. Second Jan addition. Fierce goalscoring record for 21s this term and rated highly.”
Good deal
This undoubtedly is a strategic move that bolsters the squad’s attacking options for the remainder of the season.
The 19-year-old striker, with an impressive record of 19 goals for West Ham’s under-21s, brings youthful energy and goal-scoring prowess to the team.
Marshall’s recent debut for West Ham’s senior side and international experience with Northern Ireland showcase his potential.
The loan deal provides Marshall with an opportunity to step up to the challenges of Championship football and West Brom get a hungry and talented player eager to prove himself at a higher level.
His addition adds healthy competition in the attacking department, offering versatility and depth to Carlos Corberán’s squad.
West Brom have secured his services without shelling out a transfer fee and that’s undoubtedly good business for the club.
Signing the striker is certainly that something that Carlos Corberan would’ve wanted and it remains to be seen what sort of an impact he has on the first team.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies are now extremely keen on securing a deal for a Premier League striker in January who made headlines this season.
