West Brom: Journalist moots another new last-gasp transfer, funds available at The Hawthorns
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see West Brom dip back into the market for another new signing before Thursday’s deadline, according to Joseph Chapman.
The Birmingham Live journalist shared (29 January) that there is money still left in the transfer budget to bring another new face in after the loan additions of Andreas Weimann and Callum Marshall.
West Brom aren’t believed to be anticipating any new first-team exits but last-minute external offers for some of their players cannot be ruled out.
Chapman wrote: “It wouldn’t be a surprise, therefore, to see Albion and Corberan head back into the market before Thursday night.
“It’s understood that they do still possess enough funds to source a third signing, even though they headed into the month planning to complete the two they already have secured.
“Meanwhile, at the time of writing, Albion aren’t anticipating parting with any first-team personnel although, clearly, last-minute, external offers can’t be ruled out.”

Since Jeremy Sarmiento left the club, cutting short his loan move to join Ipswich, attention has been on bringing in new faces to strengthen the club.
Carlos Corberan has managed to bring in Callum Marshall and Andy Weimann, and the Baggies are said to be interested in Omonia Nicosia winger Loizos Loizou (Anthony Joseph, 29 January).
Given that two new attackers are through the door already ahead of the February 1 deadline, it looks as though midfield could be the next area to target, if there is room.
And the news that there is funds available is brilliant news given the financial state West Brom are in right now which has forced them to seek loan deals in the first place.
Corberan has been blighted by numerous injury issues all season long so far and will be boosted by a number of returns over the next few weeks but their Premier League ambitions could be given a tremendous boost if another new face can be brought in before Thursday’s deadline (1 February).
