Chaka Traorè to make decision in next hours after West Brom transfer agreement with AC Milan

AC Milan forward Chaka Traore is expected to decide on his next destination within a matter of hours after an agreement has been reached with West Brom, according to Foot Mercato.

The French news outlet shared on 30 January that both the Baggies and Switzerland outfit Lausanne are in pole position to seal his signature for a temporary loan until the end of the season.

It is reported that the two teams both have an agreement with the Serie A giants and “everything should be settled in the coming hours, pending the choice of player.”

Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport reported on 30 January that Carlos Corberan’s men are the favourites to secure his signature with a decision expected in a matter of hours from the player.

Anxious wait

Since Jeremy Sarmiento left the club, cutting short his loan move to join Ipswich, attention has been on bringing in new faces to strengthen the club.

Corberan has managed to bring in Callum Marshall and Andy Weimann, and the Baggies have been linked with several names such as Omonia Nicosia winger Loizos Loizou (Anthony Joseph, 29 January) who’s joined Dutch side Herenveen.

Given that two new attackers are through the door already ahead of the February 1 deadline, it looks as though there could well be another in if there is room.

And the news that there are funds available is promising news given the financial state West Brom are in right now which has forced them to seek loan deals in the first place.

Traore seems an exciting prospect for the Baggies but face an anxious wait over his decision for his next destination and should West Brom win the race, then Corberan has done incredibly well to bolster his options ahead of a gruelling play-off chase.

West Brom

The 19-year-old has very little first-team experience but has managed to score twice for Milan this season in just four appearances in all competitions which suggests there is plenty of talent and potential there.

The Serie A side won’t be sending him out to gain first-team experience if he wasn’t highly regarded at the San Siro.
