Chaka Traore to decide on West Brom transfer on Wednesday morning – Gianluca Di Marzio
Chaka Traore will decide whether to complete a last-minute transfer to West Brom on Wednesday 31 January morning, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Italian journalist reported on his website on Tuesday (30 January, 18:48) that the AC Milan forward will decide between Carlos Corberan’s side and Lausanne either late on Tuesday evening or in the early hours of Wednesday.
Earlier reports have suggested that Albion are in pole position to win the race to sign the 19-year-old on loan, with both West Brom and Swiss side Lausanne facing a sprint finish to get the teenager’s signing over the line ahead of the deadline [Gazzetta dello Sport, 30 January].
Fingers crossed
West Brom supporters shouldn’t be rushing to get their new Baggies’ shirts with Traore on the back, but it does seem as though Albion fans won’t have to wait too long to find out if they will have secured a new attacker ahead of Lausanne.
Traore may not have a wealth of experience, but the Milan forward has shown in the little first-team game time that he has had this season that he is more than capable of having a major impact at a top level, having scored twice in four appearances.

Corberan could do with another forward option for the remainder of the season. The loan signing of Andi Weimann is a step in the right direction for Albion, but the Austrian international cannot be the Baggies’ only attacking reinforcement this month.
Hopefully, Traore will choose a move to the Baggies ahead of a transfer to Switzerland. Either way, West Brom fans will know sooner rather than later whether they have won the race for a new star man.
