West Brom transfer news: Doctor issues medical verdict on Huddersfield midfielder Brahima Diarra
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Brom.
Huddersfield midfielder Brahima Diarra should have no issues clearing his West Brom medical, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert discussed the ankle surgery he sustained along with two stress fractures back in 2022, but does not see that being a deterrent over a year later.
Foot Mercato, the French news outlet reported online (31 January) that the Baggies are among a host of second-tier clubs keen on the 20-year-old.
Speaking exclusively with West Brom News about James’ situation, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said:
“Diarra’s injury was very likely a Grade 3 full ankle rupture and it was of two ligaments.
“That’s never ideal and the recovery becomes all the more tricky because of it. He even required surgery for it.
“If everything is healing well, wouldn’t expect it to cause any issues during medicals.
“Also, an entire season has passed since then so any issues, if they had to come up, would have already over the last few months.“
Diarra played for the Huddersfield youth team as well and in 2021, coach Jon Worthington labelled the Mali under-21 international as “Excellent”.
The Baggies have not been throwing the cash around in January but are understood to be keen on getting in at least another player before the deadline.

Carlos Corberan has guided them into the play-off positions and the goal for the rest of the season will be to remain in the top six.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies are now extremely keen on securing a deal for a Premier League striker in January who made headlines this season.
