West Brom could seal two new signings on Deadline Day, Mikey Johnston formalities to finalise first

West Brom are closing in on signing Celtic winger Mikey Johnston but may also look to bring in a midfielder, according to Lewis Cox.

The Baggies could be announcing not one but two new signings on transfer Deadline Day ahead of 11 pm.

While Johnston appears to be closing in, it’s not guaranteed that a central midfielder will come in.

The Express and Star journalist wrote on Twitter: “Albion close in on deadline day loan of Celtic’s Mikey Johnston. Straight loan no option/obl to buy. Formalities to finalise. Midfield recruit could happen but not seen as a guarantee.”

Hurry up

With less than 12 hours remaining until the transfer deadline, West Brom need to act swiftly to secure their targets.

The process of acquiring players is not straightforward, starting with identifying potential targets based on the team’s needs and available budget.

After reaching an agreement, the midfielder will need a medical to ensure they are fit to join the team.

This step is crucial as it assesses the player’s physical condition and identifies any potential risks.

Once the medical is passed, the club finalises the contract terms with the player and registers the transfer with the football authorities.

Given the time constraints, West Brom must expedite these processes to complete the signings before the deadline.

Acting swiftly is essential to avoid missing out on valuable additions to the squad and ensure they have sufficient time to integrate into the team as quickly as possible.

In other West Brom news, the Baggies are now extremely keen on securing a deal for a Premier League striker in January who made headlines this season.
