West Brom: Jovan Malcolm reacts to Morgan Rogers transfer at Aston Villa
West Brom prospect Jovan Malcolm has sent a two-word reaction to the news that Morgan Rogers has sealed a transfer to Aston Villa.
Both aged 21, the pair will have crossed paths at The Hawthorns, with the new Villan having appeared for West Brom’s academy teams before he joined Manchester City in December 2022.
Malcolm showed his love for the former Baggies star, who has earned a move to the Premier League after impressive performances for Middlesbrough in the Championship.
“Special bro,” he wrote via Instagram on Thursday (1 February), followed by a heart and clapping emoji.
Use it as inspiration
Rogers has earned a move to Unai Emery’s Villa, and rightly so. The young star has shown exactly what he is capable of at Riverside Stadium, racking up seven goals and nine assists since last summer.
West Brom fans will be hoping that their current young prospect, Malcolm, can take inspiration from his old Baggies academy teammate and kick on at The Hawthorns.
Having also come through the academy, the 21-year-old is one of the next big hopes at the club but has only been able to make five total appearances for the Championship outlet so far.

His loan moves have also been somewhat disappointing, joining Accrington Stanley, Solihill Moors and Cheltenham Town over the past few years. There is still hope that he can develop and improve under Carlos Corberan, though.
Seeing Rogers should help him see what could happen if he ups his form because the talent is certainly in there somewhere. It is down to Corberan to find a way to reveal it.
