Sky Sports shares Juninho Bacuna footage after alleged racist abuse at West Brom
Sky Sports has shared footage of Birmingham midfielder Juninho Bacuna reporting alleged racist abuse against West Brom on Saturday 3 February.
Speaking with referee David Webb, Bacuna looks to identify the person in the crowd before Tony Mowbray confirms what had happened in the game.
West Brom have since released a statement and have promised to support the Birmingham player, confirming that anyone found guilty will face the toughest available legal punishment.
Sharing the footage on X, Sky Sports released the moment that Bacuna pointed out the alleged abuser quite clearly, speaking to the referee and club officials.
West Brom ban.
Looking at the footage, it looks as though Bacuna was pointing straight to whoever was said to have abused him, clearly identifying him to those concerned.
Hopefully, this means that the person can be caught easily and justice be served immediately with the toughest possible punishment.
West Midlands Police have already confirmed they are reviewing CCTV footage and will seek to prosecute anyone found involved in a hate crime.
This has nothing to do with football rivalry and it is simply embarrassing that this has happened, and frankly disgusting that we are even still talking about racism in football after so many incidents.
Bacuna did exactly the right thing by reporting the incident straight away and bringing the person to justice is only the first step behind stopping this happening so consistently within football.
Only one week from the shocking scenes against Wolves, things got even worse today in a week that has simply been a disgrace against the club.
