West Brom star Andi Weimann slammed for what he did at FT v Birmingham
Andi Weimann has been labelled “spectacularly stupid” by Tom Collomosse after he goaded the Birmingham supporters at full-time following his winning goal for West Brom at The Hawthorns.
The Daily Mail journalist insisted that after what happened in the FA Cup clash between West Brom and Wolves, the former Aston Villa man risked inciting a similar incident.
Weimann’s goal in the 85th minute saw Albion take all three points from a tight game, and the travelling fans were less than pleased by his celebrations after the game.
West Brom earning reputation?
Whether it is a fair one or not, the club’s reputation has been called into question on a couple of occasions in the last week, and things like this tend to stick. The crowd trouble against Wolves will stick long in the minds of some, and there will be no getting away from it.
The scenes against Wolves led to widespread condemnation of both sets of supporters, even leading to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak speaking out and telling fans that banning orders would be issued as a result of the crowd trouble.
However, incidents like Weimann goading the away support are simply part of the game. They have and will continue to happen long before the incident in the Cup, and nothing came of it – so what was the need for the dramatics?

Albion fans, anyway, will love it from their new man. A bit of fight, something about him, and of course the ability to score late winners at The Hawthorns. He has already endeared himself to this fanbase with this performance alone.
