West Brom: Video footage emerges of what Andi Weimann did to Birmingham fans at The Hawthorns
Video footage has emerged of Andreas Weimann celebrating in front of the Birmingham City fans after the West Brom victory on Saturday (3 February).
The video, which was posted by a Baggies fan on Twitter and can be viewed by following this link, shows the 32-year-old clapping the Blues fans and making a 1-0 gesture with his hands after the final whistle, leading to a coming together between both sets of players.
The Austrian forward scored the winning goal in the 85th minute on his home debut at The Hawthorns after making the switch from Bristol City on loan in the January transfer window.
Andreas Weimann enjoyed getting one over on Birmingham for West Brom
It’s pretty clear that Weimann enjoyed getting one over on Birmingham given his previous history with Aston Villa and now his move to West Brom.
It was an opportunity he clearly felt he couldn’t pass up to try and provoke the Blues fans after they’d given him a bit of stick when he came off the bench.
But it was the Austrian who got the last laugh at The Hawthorns as he stepped up with just five minutes left on the clock to hand the Baggies a massive three points.
After the forward had a fairly disappointing first half of the season with Bristol City, he will be hoping his loan spell with Albion can help him get back to his best.
Carlos Corberan will know he can be an important player in his side’s bid for promotion given his vast experience and ability to pop up with a few goals.
In other West Brom news, Carlos Corberan is eyeing a move for a free agent.
