West Brom closure mooted at The Hawthorns after ‘Horrible’ scenes – Expert
Dan Plumley has insisted that The Hawthorns being closed off for games is on the cards after a “Horrible” week at West Brom in February.
The FA Cup fourth-round tie against Wolves was suspended for half an hour after crowd trouble, with fans fighting in the stands where families of the players were sitting.
The football finance expert admitted that the authorities have to hand down the most severe punishments to stop it, with games being played behind closed doors being mooted.
“It’s been a horrible week,” he exclusively told West Brom News.
“I can’t see any other way moving forward with some of this stuff whereby the authorities start looking at severe punishments, potential part-stadium closures or games being played behind closed doors or whatever it is that is the hardest level of punishment.
“You’ve got to sense that to stop this from happening, and we’ve seen a lot of unsavoury incidents recently in relation to English football crowds across the board in the past couple of weeks, you have to stop it.
“You’re only going to do that by the most severe punishments and I just think it has to be that way to really make it a deterrent because as we’ve seen, what we’re doing at the minute is not stopping it.”

Shocking scenes at The Hawthorns.
With the alleged racist abuse of Juninho Bacuna the week after the trouble against Wolves, something just isn’t quite right in the stands at West Brom right now.
It has been embarrassing to be linked with the club at this point and these shocking scenes just cannot be allowed to continue, with severe punishments now on the cards.
