West Brom transfer news as progress made in deal to sign Yann M’Vila
West Brom are now in advanced talks to secure the services of former Inter Milan and Sunderland midfielder Yann M’Vila, according to Foot Mercato.
The French publication’s journalist Santi Aouna reported on 9 February that the France international is keen on moving to the Hawthorns.
As the 33-year-old is not registered at a club, he is a free agent and can join and register with the Baggies first-team squad in the Championship as soon as possible.
Via Twitter, Aouna wrote: “West Bromwich is in advanced negotiations with Yann M’Vila the French midfielder
“Agreement expected soon as four months deal is being discussed. M’Vila wants the move.”
A good deal for West Brom
Carlos Corberan claimed that the Baggies were looking for a new midfielder and the 33-year-old seems to be that man.
As a seasoned professional with stints at top clubs like Inter Milan, M’Vila adds a level of composure and tactical awareness crucial for navigating the challenges of the Championship.
His international pedigree with the French national team, making over 20 appearances for them, further underscores his ability to perform under pressure.
In terms of gameplay, the 33-year-old’s versatility allows him to contribute defensively with his robust tackling and interceptions while also showcasing his vision and passing range to initiate attacking moves.
His presence in midfield provides stability and control, essential traits for a successful promotion push and he’ll certainly be the best out of the signings made in January.
Moreover, M’Vila’s leadership qualities and experience in high-stakes matches can inspire confidence among his teammates, especially during crucial moments in the season.
His arrival also injects depth into West Brom’s squad, offering options for rotation and tactical flexibility.
